‘’Keith is by far the most professional, engaging and dynamic instructor I have seen deliver cycling training and would always be my first choice! Experience and enthusiasm shine through and his sessions are expertly tailored and most importantly empowering.
Keith delivered an excellent bespoke training package for our trainees and new staff and the result was they were all visibly enthused with new ideas and confidence. I would definitely use Keith again for training!!’’
Stevie Crowther, Scottish Cycling Regional Coach.
“When it came to looking for assistance to further my coaching plans I contacted Keith and the advice and mentoring he gave made me see things in a very clear way. Everything Keith suggested made perfect sense and I’m now using his advice to put my plan into action.
Dr Nina Saunders, Quality Improvement & Safeguarding Officer, Cycling Scotland.
“Keith has been working as one of Cycling Scotland’s freelance Tutors since 2011. His professional approach is combined with an infectious enthusiasm for all things cycling which enable him to be an inspiring role model for those he trains and works with. Over the past few years Keith has been able to support the organisation with a range of different services, from delivering Bikeability Scotland, writing instructor manuals, mentoring, developing programmes and providing high level training to support Cycling Scotland Aspirant Tutors to fulfil their Tutor status.”
Jim Foulis, Dundee Wheelers CC / Ronde
“As a coach, Keith has a great way of breaking down practical skills into small chunks, helping you practice and join them up again until you’ve mastered it. He has a special skill at helping you to remember all the theory and practical stuff with helpful catch phrases, I call them “Stockerisms”, “Green is Grip”, “Momentum is your friend” “Heavy feet light hands”. I have found my own skills level and those of fellow riders on the courses I’ve attended all improve greatly, and it was great fun to boot.
In addition to cyclo-cross masterclasseses run by Keith I have also attended MTB coaching sessions, the sessions are never overcrowded and Keith always has time to both observe and provide critical but constructive feedback and 1-1 support to get you to master the skill, I can now bunny hop wheelie, track stand and manual on my MTB.
If you get the chance I would say sign up for one of Keith’s sessions and see for yourself, his sessions are always very accessible and very good value for money, you won’t regret it.”
Ian Clarke (69) University of Dundee
“As a senior member of the University of Dundee Institute of Sport and Exercise, I put myself forward to become a Cycle Ride Leader for a new cycling initiative, which ISE launched a couple of years ago. Keith was the tutor for the training classes for potential leaders, which were held over several weeks.
Although I had cycled infrequently over previous years, I was a bit rusty and avoided roads wherever possible. Keith’s training programme covered all aspects of cycling from confidence boosting to leadership skills and basic mechanics. He gave me the confidence to ride on busy roads and in all weather. He recently ran a bike maintenance class, aimed at overcoming most potential incidents we might encounter as leaders. Thanks to what I learned then, I’m much more able to do basic maintenance to my own bike.
Keith is the ultimate professional trainer. He’s patient, encouraging, thorough and very enthusiastic with a great sense of humour, which I reckon is vital when dealing with my generation!!”
Sam Long, Coach, Deeside Thistle
“Keith cannot be commended enough for his Coaching delivery, be it to groups or individuals. He is enthusiastic, supportive, organised, informative and, put plainly, really keen to get the best from the rider. Highly recommended for all disciplines and for all age groups”
“Keith is a leading practitioner in Coach development, with a consultative manner that works closely with the learner and is centred upon building positive, engaged and active Coaches that help to develop cycling as a sport and cyclists as people. He has a caring approach, which tailors his delivery to the needs of the individual. He offers logical content and tips that help to broaden skillsets. All of this is backed up by great organisation skills and a real passion for cycling”

“My first experience of Keith's input was on the British Cycling Cyclo Cross coaches training course. His approach is always relaxed and informal but at the same time informative and knowledgeable. He was able to elicit everyone's opinions to share experience across the group while instilling confidence and guiding the sessions to a helpful conclusion. At the end I felt that both Keith and us, as the newly qualified coaches, all came away with more than we bargained for. Since then I've kept in touch and occasionally seek his sage and entertaining advice on my own coaching practice as well as all things Cyclo Cross.”
Anna Riddell, Coach, Rideout coaching
I did all my cycling and mtb specific coaching qualifications with Keith. I loved his high energy, focused and professional manner. He taught me a solid foundation for coaching practise, allowing me to feel confident and empowered to deliver sessions in my own area. Keith's passion and energy shines throughout his courses, making them inspiring and fun.
Lauri Peil, CX coach, Estonia; main man making CX great again in Estonia
“I first met Keith in 2014 in Stirling, Scotland, while undertaking my Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Cycling course. Keith was one of the tutors and examiners for the course, and as such, left an everlasting impression on me. Shortly upon my return to Estonia, I wanted to get more people getting their share of Keith's knowledge in cycling and decided to ask him whether he'd be willing to take a jump into the unknown and organise a short course in Estonia. Much to my surprise, he promptly agreed and it was down to me to get the schedule in place. To date I still think it was one of the best coaching cycling courses ever held in Estonia, especially as it was accompanied by numerous coaching plans and extra materials. With good feedback from participants I organised another course two years later with a specific focus on cyclo-cross. More written materials were delivered by Keith, together with loads of hands-on practise (or more like feet-on-pedals practise). Want to become a better coach? Like they say on TV - call Keith now! There are many ways you can get your personal development path going sideways, getting tutored by Keith will set you straight again.”
Douglas Grewar, University of Dundee
‘Prior to retiring I had identified cycling as an activity I intended to resume having not cycled much since my teens. As part of Dundee University ISE excellent active seniors programme the opportunity arose for both my wife and I to participate in a cycling coaching course in March/April 2018. This was led by Keith with the purpose being to upskill and encourage seniors back on their bikes. Needless to say the 6 sessions flew by as we were all put through our paces and had a most wonderful time learning so much from Keith’s first-class instruction. The lessons learned from attending this course gave us the confidence to get back out on our bikes again something I sure we would have put off doing without it. If anyone is keen to take up or resume cycling after a long time lapse a similar course led by Keith would undoubtedly give you the skills needed and presented in an enjoyable way that I think would get you moving again and also enable you to make new friends too!’
Ian Sikora, MTB Coach, Sikorasport
“Once you have completed any of the British Cycling coaching qualifications it isn’t easy to see where to go next and how to develop yourself and keep your skills relevant. Time spent on Keith’s coach development courses have had more positive effect on my coaching than anything else. It also highlights the advantage of continuing to review your skills and understanding of coaching, ensuring you are on top of your game and your clients are getting a first class service. Upgrade your coaching with Keith Stocker’s development courses.
Keith presents information in an enthusiastic and engaging way, keeping you wanting more and eager to try out your new skills afterwards. Using a great mix of classroom and practical teaching, Keith’s understanding of how to develop coaches is unrivalled.
Even the powerpoint stuff is entertaining!"
Rosie Baxendine, MTB & Ride Leader, Blairgowrie
"Without Keith's coaching and support I would not have gained the skills and confidence to obtain my MBL2 award. I required the award to lead what I love - big days of gravel riding - so I wasn't the most enthusiastic of mountain bike riders to start with! However he had the patience and ability to not only get me up to standard - but also to make me enjoy and appreciate riding single track! As someone with health issues, he allowed me time to build up my skills slowly without making me feel pressurisied within the group coaching environment of very mixed abilities. I highly recommend his coaching and I will certainly use him again in the future."
Paul Barrett, British Cycling Tutor
"Keith was my coach education tutor for my Level 2 Cyclocross Discipline Specific Unit from British Cycling. His delivery and coaching was first class. His coaching manner and ability to support and engage the learners allowed everyone on the course to develop further as coaches. For myself there was dual purpose to attending this course, firstly as a Coach but secondly I had just started working as a Coach Education Tutor for British Cycling. Through Keith's professional delivery and approach to coaching, I was able to develop as a course tutor as well. This support allowed me to become a more confident and knowledgeable both as a coach and as s course tutor."
Phil Jones, Cycling Scotland Tutor & Recyke-a-bike
“I had the pleasure of working with Keith during my Tutor training and also when I shadowed him delivering a cycle trainer course. The course was delivered really well. Keith really knows his stuff. It was fun, energetic and set at just the right pace. Myself and the candidates had a great couple of days. His sessions prepared me perfectly for the process to become a Tutor for Cycling Scotland. I also had the pleasure of shadowing him during a four day Cycle Trainer course as part of my qualification. Keith had to adapt the course due to weather warnings and also candidates ability. He included me in much of the training, something I really enjoyed, as I felt I was act.ually involved with the candidates learning, rather than just observing and taking notes. I believe Keith is one of those unique people who you could learn something new from, every time you worked with him. I hope to work with him again sometime in the future."
